Studio
Policies.

Southern Soleil Studio is committed to creating a positive, supportive, and focused environment for every dancer. The following policies are designed to help our season run smoothly and to ensure the best possible experience for our dancers and families.

Registration

A dancer's registration is considered complete once the registration fee has been paid and enrollment has been confirmed.

  • Returning Family Registration Fee: $30 per student
  • New Family Registration Fee: $55 per student

Registration fees are non-refundable and reserve a dancer's place in class.

Tuition & Payment Policies

Southern Soleil Studio's 2026–2027 tuition covers the full season from August 2026 through May 2027.

  • Tuition is based on the total number of class hours per week, per dancer.
  • Tuition is divided into 10 equal monthly installments, due August 2026 through May 2027.
  • Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month.
  • Monthly autopay is highly encouraged.
  • All card payments should be made through Southern Soleil Studio's online parent portal.
  • Families paying by cash or check in person must still be enrolled in classes through the online portal.

Tuition reserves a dancer's place in class and is not based on attendance.

Late Payments & Returned Checks

  • Accounts not paid in full by the 5th of the month will be assessed a 10% late fee.
  • Students with accounts more than 30 days past due may be suspended from class participation until the account is brought current.
  • Returned checks will be assessed a $45 returned check fee, plus any bank fees charged to Southern Soleil Studio.

If your family is experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to us directly at info@southernsoleilstudio.com. We are happy to work with families when possible.

Refunds, Credits & Withdrawal

Refunds & Credits

Registration fees, tuition, recital costume fees, and recital performance fees are non-refundable.

Refunds or account credits will not be issued for:

  • Missed classes due to illness
  • Family vacations
  • Scheduling conflicts
  • Inclement weather closures

If a class is canceled by Southern Soleil Studio due to low enrollment, a refund or studio credit will be issued.

Withdrawal

If you wish to withdraw your dancer from a class, Southern Soleil Studio must receive the request in writing by email at info@southernsoleilstudio.com.

  • Withdrawal requests are processed on the date they are received.
  • Withdrawal requests cannot be applied retroactively.
  • Tuition installments reserve your dancer's place through the end of the month in which payment is made.
  • Once a monthly tuition payment has been processed, refunds or credits will not be issued for unused classes later that month.

Family Discount rates are available for families with two or more dancers taking multiple classes per week.

To qualify:

Trial Classes

For classes with available space, Southern Soleil Studio may offer a free trial class.

  • Trial classes must be scheduled in advance by emailing info@southernsoleilstudio.com.
  • Trial classes are subject to class availability.
  • A trial class does not guarantee enrollment in that class.
  • Trial classes should be scheduled at least 5 days in advance.

Attendance, Absences & Makeups

Consistent attendance is important for both technical progress and classroom continuity.

  • Dancers should arrive on time, dressed and ready for class.
  • If your dancer will be absent, please notify the studio as soon as possible.
  • Missed classes are not refunded.
  • Makeup classes may be offered at the discretion of the director when an appropriate class option is available. In most cases, dancers may make up a missed class in a class one level below with prior approval from the director.
  • Dancers with excessive absences may have difficulty keeping up with choreography or class material.
  • For recital, company, or performance-based classes, excessive absences may affect a dancer's placement, staging, or participation in a performance.

Southern Soleil Studio reserves the right to determine whether a dancer is sufficiently prepared to perform.

Arrival, Pick-Up & Parent Guidelines

To keep classes running smoothly and safely:

  • Dancers should arrive 5–15 minutes before class.
  • Dancers age 7 and up are encouraged to arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before class begins.
  • Parents of younger dancers may wait in the lobby.
  • Dancers should use the restroom before class begins whenever possible.
  • Dancers must be ready to begin at their scheduled start time with hair secured and proper dress code on.
  • Students should be picked up promptly at the end of class.
  • Southern Soleil Studio is not responsible for students before or after their scheduled class time.

Studio Etiquette & Conduct

Southern Soleil Studio is committed to creating a positive, supported, and focused environment for every dancer.

Dancers are expected to:
